ROOM 1

DokStation presents: Anna B Savage (UK)

LIVE IE INDIE-ROCKPOP
21:30
Irish artist Anna B Savage, known for her unique brand of indie/art-pop, will perform for the first time in Romania – Wednesday, May 28, at Control Club, Bucharest, as part of DokStation Music Documentary Film Festival, 9th edition.

Anna B Savage's artful and subtly theatrical music defies categorization, blending rich influences with her unique vocal style. Her voice – strong and sonorous, yet with a vulnerability that feels as if she’s in the same room as you.
Linking music and literature, building a bridge between the written and the sung – only the greats have managed to do this in the past. Leonard Cohen, Scott Walker, and Patti Smith were just some of the shining stars that Anna B Savage orientated herself towards as a teenager.
Born on the anniversary of Bach’s death, the young musician spent her birthday every year in the Green Room of the Royal Albert Hall watching her parents perform compositions by the grand master. That shaped her.

Today, the singer–songwriter is one of the truly exceptional talents on the British independent scene. In her music, otherworldly vocals nestle up against chamber orchestral compositions, delicate arrangements rise up and blow away, and the musician’s highly eclectic sound grows song by song into an experience that lingers for days and weeks. Potentially life-changing.
After her 2015 debut EP brought her to tour alongside artists like Father John Misty and Jenny Hval, Savage released her first full-length album, A Common Turn (2021), produced by William Doyle. Her second album, 2023's in|FLUX, delved into the complexities of humanity—love and loss, pain and pleasure, uncertainty—with an intimate and dynamic instrumental approach.

Now, Anna B Savage presents her new album, You and I Are Earth, a poignant work about healing, curiosity, and her deep connection to Ireland—a love letter to a country that has been a constant part of her life for over a decade.
