Ora The Molecule is the bold, boundary-pushing project of Norwegian artist Nora Schjelderup, blending art-pop, Italo-disco, and electronic elements into an otherworldly sound. After introducing her eclectic style with the 2021 debut album Human Safari, Schjelderup returns with Dance Therapy, a vibrant, cosmic exploration of love, loss, and self-discovery, propelled in part by her experiences as a DJ. Crafting her music from a secluded cabin studio outside Oslo invites listeners into a world where dance meets introspection through the enigmatic character of Ora.
Nora Schjelderup, the creative force behind Ora The Molecule, has emerged as a unique voice in Norway's electronic music scene. Growing up in Norway, Schjelderup discovered her passion for music through record collecting and DJ-ing rather than a traditional musical upbringing. This unconventional path allowed her to cultivate a distinct perspective, informed by her background in visual art and fascination with storytelling through sound.

With a reputation as Norway’s “queen of disco,” Schjelderup has built an eclectic DJ career, performing alongside artists like Todd Terje, Lindstrøm, and opening for Røyksopp. These experiences shaped her unique sound—a fusion of classic disco, Italo beats, and innovative electronica that resonates both on dancefloors and in intimate settings.

”Dance Therapy”, her second album, marks a personal and creative milestone. Created in a cabin studio outside Oslo, it reflects Schjelderup’s journey from DJ to solo producer, capturing the evolution of Ora The Molecule as her artistic alter ego. With a background that draws from both introversion and the vibrant energy of club culture, Schjelderup has transformed Ora The Molecule into a deeply personal yet universally relatable character, embodying resilience, joy, and self-discovery.
