On Friday, December 12, the EBM/Coldwave/New Beat ULTRA SUNN project based on the legendary Belgian school and awarded Band of the Year at the prestigious Octave de la Musique is coming to Control.
Formed in late 2019 by frontman and multi-instrumentalist Sam Huge and keyboardist/producer Gaelle Souflet then joined on stage by keyboardist and percussionist Alexis Andrigo, "they always know how to put an interestingly fascinating structure into their songs, with the necessary tight sobriety that provides those typical electronic high-voltage arcs.”- Luminous Dash.
The duo crafts a sound that is both deeply personal and universally resonant. ULTRA SUNN’s music is a striking blend of EBM (Electronic Body Music), and New Beat, Post-Punk and blending characteristic techno elements with a deep appreciation for well-crafted, catchy pop melodies.
Heirs of the Sound of Belgium, sharing the stage with Front 242, A Split Second, and DAF, and collaborating with Front Line Assembly, their sound and vision remain decidedly modern and firmly rooted in the present. They also engage in collaborations with contemporary acts such as Twin Tribes, Kontravoid, Curses and more.
For ULTRA SUNN, music isn’t just an art form; it’s a mission to illuminate the shadows and celebrate the beauty of the human experience.
