ASINCRON | EP LAUNCH: SOMN/CER VARIABIL
After releasing their debut album all i had, i gave. in the winter of 2024, Asincron (Emo/Grunge) return to Control on November 5 to unveil their new record, somn/cer variabil, joined by Getchoo (Alternative/Indie) and Coridor, Apt. (Midwest Emo).
The concert is part of the STRAY LIGHTS SESSIONS, a series marking the relaunch of the DIY indie/alternative music platform that also includes: Cardinal, Denis, Plant, Orkid, Gunshee, Brainwasher, Taxawall, Second Wave, Zammorian, Valerinne, Methadone Skies, Black Water, Mock Surprise, Rotko, Air Lines, and Midpoint. The STRAY LIGHTS concert series will take place at Control twice a month starting in November.
Asincron is an emo/grunge band formed in Bucharest in the spring of 2022 for a high school courtyard show. Since then, they’ve been on a continuous journey of learning and artistic growth, which culminated in their debut album all i had, i gave. Their songs shift constantly between noise, energy, distortion, and a tense calm — beneath these textures lie introspective lyrics about painful moments that anyone can relate to.
The new EP, titled somn/cer variabil (“sleep/variable sky”), marks their first release in Romanian and reveals a quieter side of the band while preserving their signature emo elements.
Getchoo is a Bucharest-based rock band founded in 2023. Their music wraps vulnerable lyrics and vocals in the warm noise of distortion, creating moments that are both intimate and impulsive. The band’s sound keeps evolving, shaped by four musicians with distinct tastes: Victor (vocals, guitar), Tudi (bass), Bucur (guitar, vocals), and David (drums). Drawing influences from jazz, country, and hardcore, the four seek memorable songs — no matter what genre they grow from.
Their debut album WILL was released in October 2024 and warmly received by the underground scene, especially for tracks like Boat/Tow Truck, Cadaver, and the ballad Today, Tomorrow. Continuing the tradition of their debut EP Songs From The Living Room, WILL stands as an authentic product of DIY recording and production.
Beyond their hometown, Getchoo have played in Cluj-Napoca, Constanța, Timișoara, and even Hosman (Sibiu) at the indie-rock festival Holzstock. They’ve shared the stage with other alternative acts such as Pinholes, Kadjavsi, D.E.N.I.S., and Plant. The band is currently working on new material, incorporating sounds from their newly acquired synthesizer.
Coridor, Apt. (Coridor, Apartament) is a Bucharest-based Midwest Emo band performing in Romanian. The lineup includes Ștefan (vocals/guitar), Rareș (guitar), David (drums), and Victor (bass/vocals). Beneath layers of emotional screams, harmonies, odd time signatures, and fuzzy guitar riffs lie sensitive, frustratingly catchy lyrics and vocal melodies.
Coridor, Apt. released a 5-track EP titled Interior, totaling 20 minutes — perfect for listening and relistening.
